I've Got BIG Dreams!
As all of you know this blog is centered around dreams, and on the fact that you can do anything to make them come true. Though I haven't talked about it much I just started at a brand new college, a college that is great, the teachers are fantastic, and the campus is beyond beautiful. But after two weeks I realized that as much as I though that this was my DREAM college, the one that I was absolutely supposed to go, the only one that I applied to and spent months waiting to find out if I was accepted, it was not. Though I still love everything about the school, I hate being there.
Then there was the kicker, I wanted to change my major. I really did some digging into the field that I know I want to pursue and I realized that a degree in English, while it still could be good for my field, is not the best. And personally I want the best degree I can have to be prepared for the field I want to pursue.
I believe that when you are spending so much to get an education (hello! 40,000 tuition) that you should make sure you are getting what you want. It is hard enough spending 40,000 for two years (I went to a community college for two years and I am extremely glad that I owe nothing on those years) I can't imagine the people that spent 40,000 on four years. No judgement to those that did, I know that there are a lot of scholarships available, and financial aid, but still 40,000 is a lot. And I can definitely not justify spending 40,000 a year getting a degree that I am one, unhappy with, two, is not very useful and three, at a school that I am not enjoying my classes, neither my time at. Now I know that picking the wrong school is partially my fault. I allowed myself to fall in love with the amazing student to teacher ratio, and the gorgeous campus, and all the things to get involved in and didn't do the research about my field, my degree, or if the school even offered what I need.
As it turns out, the school I am going to does not offer the degree that I want. Now that was a HUGE bummer. They offer something kinda-ish like it, but its not a good program, and its not the exact degree. So I was at a loss, not entirely knowing what to do next. So I did what I do best and I researched. The first thing I knew what that I was going to need to change schools. In looking for schools I considered the degree and the location. I want to get a degree in broadcast journalism, and to do that I really need to be some where near the Metroplex area. The town that my college located in is small-ish and has like one TV station, and since I want to go into news being near several TV stations is going to be crucial in looking for jobs and internships. So I spent quite a bit of time researching my options and ended up applying to four different schools. FOUR. This is from the girl who has only ever applied to two colleges. But I am very happy with the four schools that I applied to, they all offer the right degree, Broadcast Journalism, and are located in the right area. Win, Win.
So now that I have applied to some new schools, I am about to begin the process of packing my things (since I am moving), beginning the search of looking for someone to sublet my apartment, and crossing my fingers and waiting to hear back from the schools I applied to.
Wish me luck as I pack, move, look for a job, and wait to hear back from my schools!
Hopefully i'll be back with an update soon, and some good news!

A Lovely Sunday
Most people think that Sunday is not necessarily a day for blogging, but I actually feel otherwise. I think that what you do depends on what you feel like. Like maybe I only feel like blogging on alternate Tuesdays. Haha, I just had to throw that in there. So I think everyone should just blog when they feel like it. BAM.
So that being said I am here to start a ongoing series (I guess that's what you could call it) called Lovely Sundays. Making Sunday and easy day for me to share with you the simple things from the past week that I find lovely.
With the start of school looming in a week, the things that I have been browsing the interwebz for have been jumping back in forth between things I still need for my 1st apartment, and things I need to organize my school things.
If you have not been to this website you need to go there ASAP. It is truly some of the cutest, and most efficient school supplies and organizers that I have seen. Very minimalist looking, but still made to stand out, hence the name Poppin. Their writing supplies are cute and downright efficient, and their organizing supplies look very versatile and extremely efficient. I am honestly considering ordering all my writing supplies for school plus organizers for my desk from here.

I am starting to think that Target might as well be college student necessity buying central! They literally have everything. For example, this kitchen tool set. This is a perfect set for student in their first apartment, and will probably last you a good while. I just wish that Target had the price posted online!
Check it out: www.target.com
I have been looking all over for bath mats and these come in so many colors and are perfectly priced! Since the floors in my bathroom are wood these will be great not only to keep my feet dry but keep them comfy early in the morning, and warm during the winter months.

Now this is something that I was SO excited to find! I chose a daybed for my room, and I also have a nightstand but it takes a lot of stretching to reach it. Enter the perfect solution, this attaches to and hangs from the bed to help keep my essentials handy. I think it would be great to store my remotes in, along with some pens, and the stylus for my iPad.

Like most girls I have A LOT of shoes. Like more than you can count on one hand. And even though I have a place to store most of them, this would be perfect for keeping my favorites, the ones I wear everyday, on hand.

Now I realize that this isn't entirely college related but it is something that I am loving lately so I couldn't resist putting it on the list. If you haven't watched Breaking Bad just leave now and watch it. Trust me, you need to see this. I am actually on season 2 but it is very intriguing, and definitely interesting. Most of the seasons are on Netflix except the newest season. You can bet that I will be catching up ASAP.

A Daycation? Yes please.
A Daycation clutch that is. Kate Spade ='s LOVE.
Well long time no blog, I know. But I am back and in the process of making some changes in my little part of the blog-o-sphere. The name is gonna stay the same but the layout is in for some MAJOR changes.
So a quick little update on life:
1. I am offically a college graduate, and the proud owner of an associates degree! WHOOP!
2. If you love Kate Spade as much as I do (which is A LOT) then you need to hurry your booty over and check out her surprise sale! [At which I probably just spent way to much money]
GO^^^^^^^^^
3. As I am done with school for the summer I am officially devoting all my time to working, and blogging. :)
4. I am officially in love with all things mint. (so original I know) like this shower curtain

Sunday Social!
Linking up with Neely again this week for Sunday Social!
What is your ideal way to relax?
Either writing something or reading something, with a cup of tea or coffee close by. English major at heart <3
Where is your favorite place to be?
I would probably have to say my bed. This is mainly because for one, IT IS SO COMFORTABLE! and two, I have a pretty busy schedule so I cherish all the sleep that I can get.
Who do you consider your biggest role model?
I would probably have to say my grandparents. They have always been there for me and I have always looked up to them.
What does your life look like in three years?
Hopefully (fingers crossed) I will have graduated from BU! SIC'EM! And will have started law school (hopefully also at Baylor!)
If you could go back and change one decision what would it be?
Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure that I would change anything because I would not be the person that I am today without everything that I have been through in my life thus far.
What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?
Getting into the school of my dreams! SIC'EM BEARS!

Facts of Ashley
So today I am linking up with Whitty for the Facts of Me!
Fact number 1: My favorite color is purple, and I generally have something purple on my person everyday. That is how much I love it
Fact dos: I have taken 3 years of spanish, 2 in high school and one in college. AND I AM STILL HORRIBLE AT IT.
Fact 3: I have been soda free for 23 days! Its been a big transition for me because I used to be like a 7 dr peppers a day person.
Fact 4: I swore up and down for years that I would never be an iPhone person. But I own and iPhone 4s and as much as I hate to admit it, I actually like it
Fact 5: I wear many hats. My college student hat, part time worker hat, a ton of different club hats, a musical hat (I play the flute!), the theater (my true love) hat, and of course my blogger hat. But I absolutely love everything I do and wouldn't change it for the world!
Fact 6: I am majoring in English, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO BE A TEACHER. Now I have nothing against teachers, or people who want to teach, its just not for me. I plan to use my English (and also future law degree) to become a newscaster.
*****in an awesome newscaster voice*****
GOOOOOODDDDD MORNING! I'm Ashley and I hope you all are having a splendid start to your day!
See^^^^ I got this.
Fact 7: You are getting 7 facts because 7 happens to be my favorite number.

SMILE! It's 2013 :)
I am soooo sorry I have been gone for so long! I have missed you all dearly!
BUT
I am back.
And I come bearing gifts of GREAT joy!
Well I think they are pretty great anyways..............
You see as 2013 has officially started I am officially in need of a new planner. And seeing as I can never find a planner that truly meets all of my needs I have been working very hard on creating my own. But my dear friends this is not short or easy work because I want it to be perfect. I figure I am going to use it for an ENTIRE year, so it is worth my time to make sure that I get it exactly how I want it.
THAT being said, I have been wanting a particular type of calendar layout for my planner and I haven't been able to find one that particularly suits me. So what do you do when you can't find what you want?
YOU CREATE ONE!
I have been wanting a weekly calendar so BAD! Now I have one that I love!
And YOU can have it too!
Just click the link underneath the picture, and ENJOY!
Hopefully *fingers crossed* I will be able to show you my entire 2013 planner very soon, so stay tuned!
So tell me, what are you creating to help yourself make 2013 the best it can be?

It's Only Tuesday?
For some reason I feel like it should be a lot later in the week.
Probably because I lose track of time when I don't go to school.
Dang you finals week.
Anywhoo, for those of you stopping by from GFC Blog Hop today, WELCOME! I'm glad to have you and I hope you'll stay a while.
So I realized today that having a busy schedule requires you to have some skillzz. (Yeah I just spelt skills with a z, i'm such a bad english major.)
One of those skillz(s), being
Mastering the art of eating and driving. What's in my container you ask? Mashed up tater tots and ketchup. Bucketful of yum.
The art of alphabetizing like a boss. I work at a Dr.'s office so I spend quite a bit of time filing charts and stuff.
Eating too much candy definitely has to be considered a skill. I'm obsessed with these little bites of goodness right now
Well moving on from skillz to the other random parts of my day.........
Random selfie of the day. I do have to say I'm enjoying the cold weather. :)
The currently ornament-less Christmas tree. (I haven't had time to put them on yet!)
And late night studying. I realized today that the only reason I have such a large bed is so that I can lay out every possible paper that I need to study for finals. UGH. Thank goodness they'll be over tomorrow.
Wish me luck!

It's Ok Thursday
Linking up for It's Ok Thursday!
I've been waiting for this day this because,
It's Ok:
That I am actually going to make a B in my Biology class!
That I thought that having coffee at 8pm was a good idea.
That because I had coffee at 8pm I stayed up late and actually got homework done. (WHOOP for productivity!)
To love carrying around my new East West Vera tote! It just holds everything so well
To switch phone covers every 2 days or so because I get tired of the colors
To take unattractive selfies of myself whilst hyped up on coffee and nail polish fumes. (See attatched unattractive selfie. haha)
Hope you are having a GREAT and Ok Thursday!

Life Update, and a big SURPRISE
Finals are upcoming and my life has been busier than ever! But how about a quick update about a few things!

I went to an AMAZING conference in Corpus Christi
There were stick on mustaches involved
And light up color changing bridges
And craft making
Then over thanksgiving break something that was totally AWESOME, WONDERFUL, SPECTACULAR, and ENTIRELY AMAZING happened.
So I had to get a Baylor charm for my lovely James Avery charm bracelet! :)
Then I was in a play, Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol"
Costume #1
Me and my new theater BFF Kati
And our awesome show shirts!
Annnnnd then I went to a Student Government lock-in and Christmas party
Talking awkwardly attractive pics with Em
I made cake balls (FOR THE FIRST TIME) for the lock-in
And I acquired "The Fuzz", probably the coolest, awkwardest weirdest thing I have ever owned, that was a gift from my Secret Santa.
Welp, there you have it by AMAZEBALLS last like 3 busy weeks! I can't wait for finals to be done so that I can post some more stuff for y'all in more detail.
TILL THEN,

The coolest invention since sliced bread
Well I might have recently discovered something. It might be one of the coolest things ever and I can't believe that I didn't know it existed until like literally yesterday.
And it is so cool!
I had them bind one thing for me, just kind of as a test run to see if I liked it (that is the public speaking one) and I LOVED it. So I didn't waste any time going back to Office Depot and having them spiral bind 2 other things for me.
I am now the proud owner of these 3 gorgeous spiral bound items.
But the first one that I got made is the one that I would really like to go into detail about with y'all. Which is this lovely:
I had heard of spiral binding things but I had never had one done so I wanted to do a trial to see how it worked. That is how I ended up binding all the documents for my speech class. And I bet that you would all like a peek into this pretty book.First off I had this bound with a clear cover, white binding, and white back. And it was under 5 dollars! Such a steal for my own customized public speaking book! I made the cover page which you see in the first picture, and then I also had them cut some file folders in half and bind them in as tabs between the different sections of my book.
Section 1: Course Outline and Syllabus
This section houses all the important documents for my class. Eveything from my class syllabus to a due date list, and even important paper that the professor had for us to print off.
Section 2: Calendar and To do List
This section basically has a calendar printable that I found online along with some to do lists so that I would have a predetermined place to write down things that I needed to accomplish for my class.
Section 3: Notes
What I did here was take all the notes that I had already taken by hand and had them copied on to printer paper so that they would be the same size of the rest of the pages in my notebook. Then I also had a bunch of blank lined printer paper added so that I had an additional place to continue taking notes.
Now on thing that I did add that is not pictured is that on my nice little divider tabs I took my label maker and added labels so that I could know which section was which.
So there you have it! A simple and inexpensive way to customize school material, or just have things bound in general. The other two things that I had bound was my script for the play that I was in (which makes it a hundred times easier to work with vs. a folder or binder), and the other is a book that I need to reference for a class once.
Now tell me, what do you want to have spiral bound?
