Baylor Campus Visit

As one could assume from the title I visited Baylor today, today being July 25th, since i'm writing this and its like midnightish.

I went in to the visit thinking, oh this should be fun, and maybe i'll get some cool free stuff.

It was that, and much more.

I LOVED Baylor. And since I currently go to a JUCO I need to find a University to transfer to. I had thrown  a few other colleges names around (UT and Texas State) but both of my other choices had some downsides. Baylor on the other hand, pretty much had none (unless you count the cost, but that is to be figured out at a later date. Get in first figure out how to pay for it after). The upsides of Baylor are: the student to teacher ratio (14 to 1, and I love that!), the gorgeous campus, a great school for my major (English), a law school (great because I want to be prelaw), and how friendly everyone was. So I have made Baylor my first and top choice as the college I want to transfer to.

This means a lot of things have to change for me. For one I kinda messed around in my classes my freshman year and my grades are not where I want them to be, and not what they need to be for Baylor. So more studying is at hand for me, while still keeping up my extracurriculars. It also means making sure i'm taking classes that will transfer and not silly filler classes that won't count for anything. But i'm excited about this decision, and i'm up for the challenge and the changes I have to make.

And since I got a shirt after going on my tour a photoshoot was in order, along with some pictures I took while on my tour! :)

Okay so cool fact, Baylor has a rock wall in their student center (WHATT!?!) Right? I said the same thing. But it is super cool, and it is in the shape of a bear, which you can't tell from the picture, but still, cool stuff.
This picture I took on what is considered the main part of campus, and I mainly took this picture cause it was a perfect photo-op. Statue, trees, Baylor.....so pretty. :)
Then there was the seal, and we learned about the history of it, and what it means. This was another thing I liked about Baylor so much was the history of the college that I found out while I was on the tour.

And then of course a picture of me in the free shirt I got with my tour.

Ahh, I just want to live there now. Hopefully I will a year from now, I'm quite determined!

DIY Pencil Cup

So today I was helping my grandmother organize her desk area, and I quickly realized that she had nowhere to store pens and pencils. My first instinct was to look around the house for something that could easily work as a pencil cup. I was starting to think I wouldn't find anything when I came across an empty icing container. And that is how the transformation began.

I forgot to take a picture of the original container, but here is the cup about halfway through the process:
To get to this point I basically took the wrapper off the container, picked some scrapbook paper, tacky glued it on, waited about 15 minutes, and then added a coat of modge podge.

Then I decided it needed a pretty little label because the yellow alone just looked so blah. So I got on the computer and whipped up a label (which is now avaiable for YOU under the printables tab!).
Which is how I ended up with this as my final product:
It turned out perfect! And it will make a great addition to my grandmothers desk area! And another plus for me and her? It cost absolutely nothing to make!

What have you made with containers that used to store other things?
Comment and let me know! :)

Testing, 1, 2, 3.

Well we are officially halfway through the week, and today has been a busy day so far! I had an exam this morning and a final this afternoon. And I am glad to say that I am finally done with British Literature, THANK GOODNESS! It was a 6 week course and involved a ton of reading and writing, but as an English major that's what I love to do. As for my outfit for today since I would be testing I knew I would need a comfortable, but warm outfit (our testing center tends to be EXTREMELY cold).

This sweater, short, sandal combo was perfect for today. Not too hot since its at least 95 degrees today, but not too light that i'm going to freeze during my test. Sorry for the blurry picture, I snapped it as I was running out the door this morning.

Now to write 3 letters and answer some emails before my day is over. Wish me luck!

San Marvelous!

Well it has been a long weekend, but it was a lot of fun. I took a trip down to San Marcos to visit the best friend, and we had a blast! From shopping, seeing Magic Mike, and midnight volleyball, it was all in all a great weekend!

Here are a few pictures from the trip:

Peach ice cream in Fredricksburg, it was delish!

Texas shaped waffles

The theater where we went and saw Magic Mike (Ladies, I highly recommend this movie, especially for a girls night! :) )

It was a great weekend and a much needed vacation! Now to do some laundry and get ready for the busy week! :)

Fourth of July! and a DIY

So last night I was sitting in my room wondering what to wear for the fourth of July. And since the colors of the college I go to are red, black, white, I have numerous red shirts that I could have worn, but I wanted something different (and something that didn't say NAVARRO). So I went to the birthplace of all great ideas, aka pinterest, and found this tutorial here http://blogilates.com/tag/diy-workout-shirt and it was super easy to follow and I had a lot of fun creating the shirt!

This is the back, and I love the how the red string pops against the blue!

Welcome!

Well I planned on creating this welcome post about a week ago. But as a busy girl with big dreams my busy life took over so I am just now getting to my first official post of my blog (that I created over a week ago).

I created this blog to post all my thoughts, ideas, dreams, crafty projects, and random tidbits that come up in my life as a college student. I am excited and looking forward to all the things I hope to post on this blog.

Till next time,
